Eidolons at Irving’s Pond
There is something inexplicable about the murky waters of Irving’s Pond. Beyond the reeds, sedges, cattails, and blood-red cardinal flowers, one might see his or her reflection on the pond’s surface. Even so, many often believe that their reflections begin to move independently, sometimes emerging from the waters and following the individuals whom they uncannily reflect. These eidolons are described as warped or unnatural representations. Their behavior begins playfully, but becomes increasingly hostile and distressing. Furthermore, faint gasps, sighs, and whispers are sometimes heard peeping from the cardinal flowers, as if they are alive.
