Stone Ruins of Backbone Mountain
Backbone Mountain is the steepest one rising on the valley’s western edge. Curiously, there exist stone ruins of unquestionably ancient date strewn over its entirety—sunken into the ground and hidden behind the shadows of the woods. Yet it is suspected that the remnants of these once-monolithic structures are far from human. Interestingly, a stone tablet was discovered containing hieroglyphic characters. Despite no answer as to what they mean, most scholars have agreed that the depictions are arachnid-like in nature and possibly tell a sequential narrative. However, others have called the artifact’s authenticity into question.
