Bat-Winged Beast of the Blackstone Hillocks
Travelers and residents have consistently sworn that on the passage winding through the Blackstone Hillocks, a bat-winged creature soars through the night sky, sometimes briefly eclipsing the moon and stars. The beast is described as skeletal but broad-boned; walking upright; around twelve feet in height; and with a wingspan of eleven to twelve feet. A loud, unnatural howl is said to precede his appearances. And if he is near, the hideous flapping of his wings stirs chilling whirlwinds and scatters dead leaves. It is thus no surprise that many believe the creature is responsible for the frequent disappearances along the passage.
