They are both foolish, for I keep my real notes hidden. I only write what I know they want me to say. Dr. White says I am improving, but Mr. Randolph is rather suspicious. They will never know the truth. I have been foretold that one night in the distant future, we will be liberated from this horrid penitentiary. We shall finally smite the sentinels of this ugly prison! Their screams will be our utmost delight!
