The Scream of McCormick Hollow

McCormick Hollow may be observed shortly after one crosses the covered bridge over Schwartz Creek. The land steeply descends into a ravine shrouded by a dense canopy of trees. Travelers have claimed to occasionally hear the horrid scream of a woman calling for help. Yet upon scrutinizing the hollow, those who responded to the cries realized that there were no signs of another living presence. Many fear that the scream is not from some poor soul in distress, but rather, it is meant to lure the unsuspecting—especially beyond dusk. It is therefore wise to quickly pass this place should you find yourself in the valley after sunset.
