Lost Letters
Letter 60 - November 11th, 1898
Dear Mr. Presley,
I apologize for your troubles and would be more than willing to pay you twice as much. I find myself rather surprised that you didn’t leave earlier. You see, for the past several weeks, I have struggled to find someone who could complete the task. Of course, we both understand that if I had the furniture removed during the day, the entirety of Hemlock would notice—and thus no one would come to my auction. This is why I had you work under the concealment of night. But therein lies my predicament. The mortuary is haunted. I have been told this on many occasions. No one ever wishes to return, for the ghosts seem to become less shy after dusk. However, should you finish the job, I may triple your pay.
Your humble and obedient servant,
J.B. Brakefield
