Lost Letters
Letter 58 - April 18th, 1842
My beloved William,
Your letter came as a most endearing surprise. After the ball, I was reluctantly wont to believe I would never see you again. And I, too, was quite nervous upon making your acquaintance; yet my heart also leaped after holding your hand. In that very dusky corner, I stood by myself; for I had never danced before and wished to remain unseen. Nevertheless, your affections were felt the moment you approached me. Though my steps were lamentably ungraceful that night, you worried not—easing my one thousand apprehensions. I pray and hope that we may meet again soon.
Sincerely yours,
Abagail Walraven
