Letter 56 - May 11th, 1886

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey,

I would very much like to reserve a room for several nights. I am an historian endeavoring to write a book on distinguished figures from New England’s past. To my knowledge, General Edgeworth—no doubt a prodigious mind of the Revolution—frequented the Staddon House during his final years. However, it would be both an honor and a privilege if you were to expressly put my name down for the room in which hangs Edgeworth’s famous portrait. I should arrive on the 8th of June—perhaps around dusk. Furthermore, I am willing to pay in advance.

Your most humble and obedient servant,
G.R. Holbrook
