Letter 54 - August 7th, 1890

Dear Mr. Randolph,

I understand that you are away at the moment, but I have an urgent question regarding Franklin Wright. Yesterday I spoke to him at great length, and also had reason to believe that his disposition was improving considerably. However, this morning he appeared profoundly more despondent than yesterday. I asked Ethan if he noticed any aberration in his behavior last night, to which he swore he had not. Mr. Wright no longer responds to questions when prompted. I fear his melancholia is advancing. And although I understand that you have forbidden patients from visiting the courtyard since the attempted breach last month, I believe the fresh air and sunshine may alleviate his symptoms.

My sincerest regards,
Dr. J.W.
