Lost Letters
Letter 34 - October 9th, 1897
Dear Sarah,
I too have felt that something is dreadfully wrong with Hemlock; it is not the same as it was decades ago. Many of the houses are badly neglected and conviviality is rather scarce. I once asked a lamplighter for directions, yet he was reluctant to say much and eyed me with suspicion. But Warwick has never stirred a single pleasing fancy. I vividly recall gazing at it from afar when I was only a small girl. It stood like a dark castle from a fairytale. Yet I am sure that even the most appalling places in fiction and folklore cannot compare to Warwick Asylum.
Your loving,
Elizabeth
