Lost Letters
Letter 32 - July 4th, 1890
Mayor Franklin Wright,
It is quite heart-rending to read the wrathful words you chose to pen. And I am still unable to understand your burning animosity; I cannot help but conclude that asking a mere question is enough to agitate your very soul. Although I admire your ability to discern words, you are still incognizant of one detail. Perhaps you should consider your own past and reflect upon that which you believe is well-hidden. I ardently believe that our pasts can never truly die. And whether we wish to believe this or not, it matters very little. For sometimes the past can return like a ghost—the presence of which reveals the ugly truth.
Delightfully yours,
Jeffrey Randolph
