Journal Entry 45 - Maple Hill Caretaker Log - June 17th, 1886

Regrettably, the officers have found nothing, but I am relieved that all has been quiet here the past several days. The gates have remained shut and no grave has been disinterred. However, sometimes I do feel as though someone is watching me through the windows. I always make sure to draw the curtains together as soon as the sun begins to fall below the horizon. I sometimes doubt that whoever I saw was here to steal from the graves. The way he walked appeared unnatural. And his lacking response to my voice is still disconcerting to ponder. Ever since that night, I do not feel at ease here. It is as if the remnants of the Maple Hill I once knew have forever died.
