Journal Entry 44 - Maple Hill Caretaker Log - June 12th, 1886
I have discussed the recent disturbances with officers of the police in Hemlock. After more closely inspecting the Farebrother Mausoleum yesterday, I realized that a body was indeed missing from its coffin. I now suspect that whoever I saw wandering the hill several nights ago was indeed a grave robber. This morning, I found two of the older gates opened, despite their heavy iron latches having been rusted shut for many years. I hope they find the man responsible and lock him up somewhere far away from Maple Hill. I am already dreading nightfall, for my memories of him wandering up the hill have caused nightmares. Why can I not simply be left alone and unbothered?
