The Old Holloway Mill

The icy trickle of water from Schwartz Creek sometimes turns the rickety waterwheel at the old Holloway Mill. One cannot help but stop and gaze upon the edifice as its shadow reaches far over the land. Forsaken for nearly a century, the dark frame of this very structure still stands like a lingering shade from distant times forgot. Its windowpanes are long-shattered and few shutters remain. Although no spook nor specter is known to haunt this place, its forbidding impression always pierces the hearts of fearful onlookers. The disquiet one feels when staring at the mill is never entirely describable. Some believe that the water—being the valley’s very own blood—has forever cursed this place.
