The Odd Case of Mr. Brakefield

On the frosty, overcast morning of November 30th, 1898, Mr. Jackson Brakefield was found wandering through the streets of Hemlock. The clothes he wore were stained with soil, and his frame was noticeably gaunter. He fell at the doorsteps of the abandoned Winston Manor Mortuary and was promptly taken to see the physician; for something was not right about his complexion. Though the malady that afflicted Mr. Brakefield was never determined, it did appear as though he had aged considerably—and impossibly. His skin was gray and shriveled, as if he had been decaying within a tomb for many decades. When asked about his whereabouts prior to being discovered, he could only cry out a parched, whispery scream.
