The Disappearance of G.R. Holbrook
A distinguished historian hoping to collect and preserve folklore from Hemlock and Spookinite Valley, G.R. Holbrook swore to himself that not even the dead would obstruct his endeavors. He arrived by nightfall, staying in the finest room of the Staddon House. Although he was only seen every now and then, his sudden departure contradicted his earlier claims of remaining in the vicinity for much longer. Fearing that he might have met a horrid fate, the police scavenged the vale—but it was all purely in vain. Yet all the more confounding, no records of an historian by this name were ever found—and neither were the books he professed to have published.
