Ravens Perched on Graves

Pay no attention to the sometimes rather mocking caws of ravens—especially when they are perched upon grayed, weather-worn headstones. This is often a trap, whereby one unknowingly steps over a rotted coffin. Even lightly walking above such ground will cause the loose earth to collapse—thus delivering the unsuspecting soul to the bottom of a deathly sink-hole. Although one could climb out, there is always the fear that this disturbs the sleeping occupant beneath—who may decide to pull those who disrupt its rest down much farther. And while this horror is unfolding, the ravens simply watch with delight, mimicking the implorations for help and cawing without end.
