Lost Letters
Letter 69 - May 4th, 1842
Dearest Abagail,
Uncertainties of the past are the most leaden ones, but it seems amidst your isolation, you uncovered the essence of your own heart and soul. And you needn’t be ashamed of this—nor do I believe you sound ‘mad.’ I dare say you possess sensitive inclinations with which few are endowed. I admit that I sometimes endeavor in vain to see beyond the ordinary, but perhaps sometimes one must see through another’s eyes if he yearns to receive a glimpse into the extraordinary. If you are willing to bewitch me with a sketch or drawing in your reply, I’d be grateful forevermore.
Your very own,
William Fairhurst
