The Unexpected Passenger
One should very carefully consider traveling in a coach with a spare seat. Some believe that the wraith of a woman will appear in the empty seats of carriages when an unwary soul is riding through the valley. Travelers may not recognize her spectral constitution—especially within the dark. They thus converse with her for quite some time, believing she is as mortal as they. Even so, upon the coach exiting the valley, she evaporates into thin air. If the conversation is pleasant, she is said to leave behind a gold coin or white veil by which she wishes to be remembered. However, if she deems her time unpleasant, she will shriek and cause the carriage to overturn and crash.
