Living Cadavers at Maple Hill
The final caretaker of Maple Hill Cemetery swore to never return after he was allegedly stalked by several living cadavers. He emphatically shrieked that they wished to drag him down into the earth beneath the headstones. Delirious, the fearful man fled Hemlock and left all of his personal possessions behind. Since his account of that dreadful night, many fear that the dead do not truly rest at Maple Hill, and sometimes they rise from the earth from nightfall to sunrise. To be caught by these restless stiffs could mean certain doom. However, others suspect that these tales were simply spread for the purpose of frightening away graverobbers and curiosity-seekers.
