Letter 21 - October 24th, 1847

Dear Postmaster Beauregard,

I understand the gravity of your letter; thank you for bringing these concerns to my attention. I shall promptly deploy a platoon to patrol the central routes of the valley. Your postmen should not have to fear for their lives while transporting mail. I am confident that the presence of troops will dissuade thieves and bandits from preying upon unwary citizens, too. You may rest assured that the postmen will very shortly have no reason to dread those remote roads. Upon receiving this letter, please inform Mayor Evans of my decision. And should you have any further inquiries, write to me at once.

Yours truly,
Robert Ashcroft
