Journal Entry 19 - June 30th, 1890
Mayor Franklin Wright is a fool. He knows not, but his time serving the public will end very shortly. How confident he is when it seems that all is buried and forgotten. But what he fails to recognize is that nothing ever truly perishes—including memories. How some vainly endeavor to forget; yet only the ordinary and dull moments really fade. What causes the heart to ache and the mind to fearfully disregard is something that lives on, deep within the soul. Mr. Wright may deceive himself, but his own deceptions will not endure for much longer. All of the letters and documents are in my possession to resurrect that which has been hidden, and in the end, he may beseech me for mercy, but his arrival here shall become his destiny in time.
