The Lost Book of Nightmare Nursery Rhymes
According to countless tales told within Hemlock’s tavern, there once existed an inexplicable book of unsettling nursery rhymes. Many claim that their parents read to them this book when they were children—especially before bedtime; but strangely, the parents cannot recall ever reading such a book. Those who allege to have seen this strange volume describe the poems and rhymes as grim and disturbing, sometimes accompanied by horrid and dream-like illustrations. Reading the book evidently causes recurring nightmares and fear. Although the author is not known, the poems are believed to have been inspired by the region’s bleak folklore.
