Welcome to the Gloomy Hollows of Spookinite Valley Est. Sept. 2012 Unusual Lights and Sounds at Hawthorne’s Bog Hawthorne’s Bog is perhaps one of the most bewildering landmarks in the valley. Unexplained lights are sometimes discernable at night—floating listlessly over the sullen waters. The foreboding calls of loons and autumn peeper frogs are often heard by travelers as well. These nocturnal symphonies are remarked on by many as being peaceful but paradoxically disquieting. However, it is said that if the bog is silent, one must quickly flee.
